Governmental associations may be defined as professional organizations with a primary mission to develop professional skills of City of Milton staff members and/or serve as a public information clearinghouse. Also, the City of Milton budget pays employee membership dues for these associations.
Non-governmental organizations may be considered eligible for linkage if they meet any or all of the following criteria:

- Organizations that receive funding and/or operating assistance from the City of Milton.
- Organization to which the City has membership, or City employees have membership for purposes that relate to their employment with the City.
- Sites that provide Internet mapping services, weather, or other factual and detailed informational services of benefit to citizens.
